Jewel Rain Vortex light show timing and opening hours 2026

The Rain Vortex at Jewel Changi Airport runs from 10am to 10pm every day. The free light and music show plays at 8pm and 9pm from Monday to Thursday, and at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm from Friday to Sunday, on public holidays and on the eve of public holidays.

Jewel is in front of Terminal 1 and joined to its Arrival Hall. It sits in the public area, so anyone can visit without a boarding pass. Times below are from Jewel's own pages, checked on 7 November 2026.

Rain Vortex light show times for 2026

The waterfall drops 40 metres from the glass roof to the basement and is the world's tallest indoor waterfall, according to Jewel. At night, lights and projections play on the curtain of water, set to music. Jewel's pages give no running time. Visitor guides put each show at about five minutes, so arrive a few minutes early.

Jewel isn't consistent about the name. The Rain Vortex page calls it the Light & Music Showcase, and the FAQ calls it the Light & Sound Showcase. Both refer to the same show and give the same times.

24 December and 31 December are both eves of public holidays, so the 10pm show should run on both nights. As of 7 November, Jewel hasn't announced a special New Year's Eve show.

Pokémon season: closures on 7 and 8 November

This weekend is the one big exception. For the Starter Pokémon Parade at 3pm and 6pm on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, Jewel says:

• The Rain Vortex is switched off from 1:15pm to 3:30pm and again from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
• The Forest Valley is closed from 1pm to 7pm, except to visitors with a parade wristband.
• The evening light shows at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm are not listed as cancelled.

After the weekend, the Pokémon displays in the Forest Valley, including a three-metre Pikachu, stay open from 10am to 11pm daily until 31 January 2027. Jewel hasn't announced a Pokémon-themed Rain Vortex show. The Pokémon light and snow show is a separate event at Terminal 3: see the T3 show page.

Christmas at Jewel: snowfall after each show

From 13 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, Christmas at Jewel adds a "Let It Snow" snowfall five minutes after each light show, in the Forest Valley and Canopy Park. The 10:05pm snowfall on Fridays to Sundays is in the Forest Valley only.

A 16-metre UNIQLO Christmas tree with a brownstone house stands in the Forest Valley, and the Canopy Park on Level 5 has Starry Christmas displays. The terminals run their own programme too: see Changi Christmas 2026.

Where to watch the light show

• Level 1, Forest Valley floor: closest to the water, with the best sound. It gets crowded on Fridays and Saturdays.
• Level 2 North and South Lookouts: by Shake Shack and near PS.Cafe, a little above the crowd.
• Restaurants on Levels 2 to 4 that face the waterfall. Not every table has a view, so ask when you book. Our Jewel food guide lists them by level.
• Level 5, Canopy Bridge: 23 metres up, looking straight at the falls. Its last entry is 8:30pm, so only the 8pm show works from here. See Canopy Park tickets.

Which terminal is Jewel at, and how to get there

Jewel is in front of Terminal 1, and you can reach it from every terminal without a boarding pass. From Jewel's FAQ:

• T1: walk straight in from the Arrival Hall on Level 1.
• T2: 5 to 10 minutes on foot over the link bridge from Departure Hall Level 2, near row 1.
• T3: 5 to 10 minutes over the link bridge from Departure Hall Level 2, next to the Crowne Plaza entrance. A free shuttle also leaves from T3 Departure Door 8.
• T4: free shuttle from the T4 Arrival Lounge, stopping opposite the Jewel Level 2 drop-off. It runs direct from 6am to midnight, and loops via T3 and T1 from 1am to 6am.
• MRT: Changi Airport station (CG2), then the Level 2 link bridges from T2 or T3. Change at Tanah Merah or Expo.
• Bus: 24, 27, 34, 36, 53, 110 and 858 stop at the T1 basement.

The Skytrain runs through Jewel and passes the waterfall, but there is no Jewel station. Transit passengers who leave the airport for Jewel need to clear immigration, and Jewel suggests a layover of at least five hours. Drivers can see Jewel and T1 parking.

Is Jewel open 24 hours? Opening hours for shops and attractions

The building and the Forest Valley trails are open 24 hours, but most of Jewel closes at night. Jewel lists 135 of its 146 shops as open 10am to 10pm. These keep different hours:
