As of 7 November 2026, neither Changi Airport nor Jewel has announced a New Year countdown for 31 December 2026. Their year-end pages cover Christmas and the Pokémon programme, and say nothing about a midnight show, fireworks or a countdown party.
That doesn't mean the airport is dark that night. Because 31 December is the eve of a public holiday, Jewel's published rules give it the longer evening line-up: light shows at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm, and snowfall at 8:05pm, 9:05pm and 10:05pm. Here is what is on, what past years did, and what to check closer to the date.
What is on at Changi and Jewel on 31 December 2026
These are the regular programme times as published now. None of them is a special New Year's Eve schedule, and any change would be announced by Changi or Jewel nearer the date.
| Time | What | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 10am to 10pm | Canopy Park, with the Starry Christmas displays (ticketed) | Jewel Level 5 |
| 10am to 11pm | Pokémon displays and the three-metre Pikachu | Jewel Forest Valley |
| 12pm to 9pm | Pokémon Experience Lounge (book in the Changi App) | T3 Departure Hall, Level 2 |
| 7:30pm and 8:30pm | Light and Snow Show | T3 PokéXciting! Stage, Departure Hall Level 2 |
| 8pm, 9pm and 10pm | Rain Vortex Light and Music Showcase | Jewel Forest Valley |
| 8:05pm, 9:05pm and 10:05pm | Snowfall (Canopy Park at 8:05pm and 9:05pm; the 10:05pm session is Forest Valley only) | Jewel Forest Valley |
The Jewel times come from its Rain Vortex page and Christmas at Jewel page, which both give the longer schedule for Fridays to Sundays, public holidays and the eve of public holidays. New Year's Day is a public holiday, so 31 December qualifies. The T3 stage only lists a 9:30pm show for Fridays to Sundays (or "weekends" on its own page), and 31 December 2026 is a Thursday, so expect two T3 shows. More detail is on the T3 Light and Snow Show page and in our Rain Vortex light show guide.
The last scheduled event at Jewel is therefore the 10:05pm snowfall. There is nothing published between then and midnight.

What Changi and Jewel did in past years
We read Jewel's year-end media releases back to 2022. Only one year had anything at midnight:
- 2022 (Avatar and marine theme): Jewel added an 11:55pm Light and Sound show and a snowfall at "11:59pm / 12:00am" on 31 December 2022, the same extras it ran on Christmas Eve. Other special days got an 11pm show. This is the closest Jewel has come to a countdown in its published programmes.
- 2023 (Super Mario at Jewel): nightly Christmas light shows and snowfall, plus a one-night concert on 23 December. No New Year's Eve extras were listed.
- 2024 (Polo Ralph Lauren tree, Disney Cruise Line pop-up): light shows at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm and snowfall up to 10:05pm. No New Year's Eve extras were listed.
- 2025 (Disney Cruise Line): from 5 December the Rain Vortex show ran at 8pm and 10pm until 4 January 2026. No New Year's Eve extras were listed.
So a late show is possible but not the norm. If one is added for 2026, it would most likely appear on the Christmas at Jewel page or in a Jewel advisory in December. We will update this page if it does.

If you are flying on New Year's Eve
There are no Pokémon events in the transit areas on 31 December. The nearest Night Encounters are on 27 December in T3 and 2 January in T1 (see the Night Encounters page). The Pokémon Glow Garden in the T1 transit area (Level 2, Discovery Garden) is listed as open 1am to 6am daily, so travellers there in the early hours of 1 January should find it open. Changi doesn't give its run dates.
Food is easier, as several outlets in the terminals stay open through the night. Our 24-hour and late-night food guide lists them by terminal.
New Year's Day and the first weekend of 2027
Friday 1 January 2027 is a public holiday, so Jewel again has three light shows and three snowfalls, and the T3 stage has its Friday line-up of 7:30pm, 8:30pm and 9:30pm. The airport's Festive Village and Christmas at Jewel both end on Sunday 3 January 2027, which makes that weekend the last chance for the snow and the UNIQLO tree. Jewel's Pokémon displays stay until 31 January. Our Christmas at Changi guide covers the full season.
After that comes Lunar New Year (6 February 2027). Changi hasn't announced its programme yet, but Pokémon's Lunar New Year Pikachu is already scheduled in the transit areas on 24 January (T3) and 30 January 2027 (T1).
Getting there and home late
- MRT: the East West Line ends at Changi Airport station, under T2 and T3. LTA has not announced any extended train hours for 31 December 2026, so check its updates nearer the date.
- Jewel: open 24 hours, with most shops 10am to 10pm. It connects to the T1 Arrival Hall and by link bridges from T2 and T3 Departure Level 2, 5 to 10 minutes on foot.
- From T4: a free direct shuttle to Jewel runs 6am to midnight, then a loop bus (T4, T3, T1) from 1am to 6am.
- Driving: see our parking guide for car parks and rates.
For the main citywide countdown, the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown is run by URA. Its plans for the end of 2026 hadn't been announced when we checked; last year's programme was announced in November 2025.
